Highlights of the Board of Directors’ Meeting
Among other actions at its Oct. 17, 2007 meeting, the ASCPA Board of Directors reviewed the following:
Life and Honorary Member Selection Committee Report—The Committee was chaired by George Cohen, and its members included Larry Field, Bill Huizingh, Denny Mitchem and Allen Nahrwold. The Committee recommended and the Board approved the following names: Life Members—Doug Haywood and Ken Husband; Honorary Member—Marc Spitzer.
Strategic Plan Update—Cindie Hubiak updated the board on the progress made on all strategic plan measurements.
Strategic Planning—Member Survey Results:
Patty Gannon, director of publications, reviewed the results of the member survey with the Board.
CPA Foundation Update—Mike Wagner, president of the Foundation, provided a financial update to the board. He also spoke about the Foundation’s desire to increase visibility with high school graduates so they may consider the profession.
Legislative Issues Impacting the Profession—Kevin DeMenna (lobbyist) and Cindie Hubiak updated the Board on mobility efforts and the significance of donating to the political process.
