Carolyn J. Brown: NAWBO’s Business Owner of the Year

Carolyn J. Brown, CEO of The Accountant’s Office LLC, was selected as 2008 Business Owner of the Year by the National Association of Women Business Owners, Phoenix Metro Chapter (NAWBO). The award was presented at the association’s annual Desert Diamonds Awards Gala on June 18. In attendance were Cindie Hubiak, ASCPA CEO & President, several clients and members of Brown’s staff, along with about 300 NAWBO members, dignitaries and guests.

 

Mark Landy, CPA, was recently appointed to the Arizona Board of Accountancy by Governor  Janet Napolitano.

 

Donna A. Cordova, CPA, was appointed to serve on the Arizona Physcial Therapy Board by Governor Janet Napolitano.

 

Rich Dozer recently became president of GenSpring Family Offices, a wealth management firm.

 

Friends of the Phoenix Public Library elected Scott Evans, CPA, as treasurer.

 

Dale Walters, CPA, was honored for his leadership by the Arizona Family College Savings Plan Oversight Committee of Phoenix.

First Fidelity Bank hired Marsha Harrison, CPA, as vice president and treasury services relationship manager.

 

Matt Chew, CPA, of Matthew Kenyon Chew, CPAs, and retired treasurer of The Episcopal Diocese of Arizona, received an honorary degree from Church Divinity School of the Pacific, an Episcopal Church Seminary.

 

The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Desert Southwest Chapter, elected James Dunlap, CPA and Thomas Maguire, CPA, to its board of directors.

 

Valley Leadership elected Rob Leslie, CPA, as secretary/treasurer of its board of directors.
