The ASCPA Book Club — Increase Your Earning Potential!
A study by the Institute of Management Accountants states that people who read seven non-fiction books a year earn more than twice as much money as people who read only one. If you want to rise in the corporate world, you should be reading, too.
The ASCPA Book Club offers members the opportunity to read and discuss books on leadership and business-related topics. These discussions will increase the participant’s leadership abilities, cultural and social awareness, sensitivity and competency through the appreciation and acceptance of the different ideas shared by the participants.
Discussions provide an open, non-threatening forum for talking about issues on leadership, business, networking and diversity. The book club discussions will be facilitated by a fellow ASCPA member.
Even if you don't have time to read the book, we encourage you to attend and join in the discussion. We have regular book club members, but we always welcome new ones!
Interested in attending?
To learn more or attend the next book club meeting, scheduled for Feb. 16 at 8 a.m., please contact José at jherrera@ascpa.com or (602) 324-4741. You can attend in person or participate via phone.
We have also created a new LinkedIn subgroup for the Book Club, where you can discuss this book and others. It gives you the opportunity to participate even if you can't make it on the discussion date and time, and if you would like to continue the discussion after the book club meeting. You must be a member of the ASCPA's LinkedIn Group to join the subgroup.
Want to get ahead?
The Radical Leap by Steve Farber, another great leadership book recommended by your fellow CPA, is the next book the club will discuss on Feb. 16 at 8 a.m. If you have ideas on books the club should consider reading, please send your ideas to José.

Missed the the last book club meeting and want to catch up?
The newly formed ASCPA Book Club discussed their first book on Dec. 16, Never Eat Alone by Keith Ferrazzi. Learn more about the book Never Eat Alone at our blog.
