Q: What are the benefits of joining or renewing my ASCPA membership?
A: Membership in the ASCPA is one of the wisest investments you can make in your career.
Tangible advantages include benefits and services that you may use to assist you in your professional career, such as substantial discounts on our high quality CPE, access to timely information through the AZ CPA, our monthly magazine and the Enews, our electronic newsletter.

Q: How can I get involved in the ASCPA?
A: Joining a Section steering committee is one of the best way to get involved, and signing up is easy. You can also join a conference committee to help plan the annual conference for your Section. The ASCPA’s other volunteer opportunities are devoted to determining members’ needs, advancing professional issues, and enhancing the role of the CPA in the marketplace. ASCPA chapters also provide a great way to get involved on a local level. Chapters host events that make for excellent opportunities to connect with your peers.
Q: Does the ASCPA have a resume referral service or job posting service?
A: ASCPA members have access to thousands of resumes and job postings via a nationwide and local network of more than 800,000 accounting, finance and banking professionals. The ASCPA Career Center, affiliated with CareerBank.com provides a job posting service, a resume search capability and e-mail notifications for the employer. We also post employment opportunities in the Classified Ads section of our AZ CPA and Web site.
Q: I am an ASCPA member with a technical question. Who can I talk to about my question?
A: As a member of the ASCPA, you have access to our Member-to-Member Directory. You can access the information on our Web site and the Resource Guide. You can also post technical questions using one of our seven Section list serves.
Q: Can I access a membership directory?
A: Yes, the ASCPA helps you connect with your colleagues using the most up-to-date member and firm directories with complete contact information.
Q: What is the Affinity Partner Program and how does it benefit me?
A: The Affinity Partner Program was designed to offer our members attractive products and preferred pricing on services and products geared to CPAs. Members can get great discounts on RIA Handbooks, Liberty Mutual home and auto insurance and so much more.

Dues
Q: What are the fees to be a member of the ASCPA?
A: Dues are prorated based on the time of the year you join and your dues class. There is also a one-time application fee of $25. See our Schedule of Dues and Rates .
Q: How do I know if my dues are paid for the current year?
A: The ASCPA mails and e-mails numerous notices to members who have not paid their dues. You can also contact the Member Services Team at (888) 237-0700 ext. 205 or e-mail at membership@ascpa.com to find out if your membership is current.
Membership
Q: What is the associate membership category?
A: Persons who have passed the CPA examination and are otherwise qualified to receive their certificates as Certified Public Accountants, but have not fulfilled the necessary work experience requirements for the certificate, are eligible to be a candidate member. Candidate members are entitled to all rights and privileges of a member, except they cannot vote.
Q: I recently became certified; how do I update my membership status?
A: To update your membership status, we need your certificate number and the date it was issued. You can call the Member Services Team with this information at (888)-237-0700 ext. 205 or e-mail at membership@ascpa.com .
Q: I am not a CPA, can I still join?
A: Any individual who is a full-time undergraduate or post baccalaureate student and working towards their CPA certificate can join as a student member.
The affiliate membership category is available to non-CPAs actively working in management, finance, accounting, economics, or technology.
Student and affiliate members shall be entitled to all rights and privileges of members, except they cannot vote.
Q: When does my ASCPA membership expire?
A: The ASCPA membership year runs from May 1 to April 30. Renewal notices are mailed in late April.

A: You can update your personal and business information under the "My Membership" section of our Web site. You can also contact the Member Services Team at (888)-237-0700 ext. 205 or e-mail at membership@ascpa.com .
Q: How do I log on to the "My Membership" portion of the Web site?
A: To access your personal or professional information online you will need your username, which is your last name (apostrophes and hyphens included) and password, which is your member ID (no m's or zeros). If you forgot your member ID or you are having difficulty logging on, contact the Member Services Team at (888)-237-0700 ext. 205 or e-mail at membership@ascpa.com .
