Policies

Any unauthorized or illegal use that is detected by or reported to ASCPA staff will result in immediate exclusion from all list serves available through the ASCPA Web site. Participants who suspect that unauthorized or illegal activity is occurring on an ASCPA list serve are recommended to report such activity to communications@ascpa.com.

·                                 Discussion of fees is prohibited.

·                                 Advertising services, recruiting employees, soliciting business or distributing other self-promoting material through the forum is not permitted. Participants are encouraged to use these forums for professional and informational purposes to benefit their practice/company.

·                                 Promotion of events that offer CPE credit that are not sponsored by the ASCPA is prohibited.

·                                 When posting information to the list serve, the member warrants and represents that he or she owns the copyright material or has received permission to use and disseminate it from the copyright owner. Additionally, the member grants the ASCPA and other list serve participants non-exclusive right and license to display copy, publish, distribute, transmit, print and use such information or material.

·                                 Participants should not provide any security sensitive information on the list serves. Encryption and/or other security methods are not employed.

·                                 List serve messages may be archived for later viewing by visitors to the ASCPA Web site. These exchanges may be edited for obvious grammatical errors or personal or inappropriate discussions. If you do not want your reply to appear on the Web site, it is best to reply to the sender only.

·                                 The list serve is currently for ASCPA members only.

List Serve Etiquette

·                                 Include an electronic signature for each posting (name, affiliation and contact information) in case of the members of the list serve would like to contact you directly.

·                                 Use a specific and concise topic for the subject line.

·                                 Reply to the entire list serve if everyone will benefit from the information. If you would like to thank someone for his or her response, please send your message directly to that person, not the entire list.

·                                 Be respectful of the opinions of others.

·                                 Do not use offensive language.
