Exciting CPAs!

Diverse Activities Create Balance and Fun for CPA Who Gives Back to Community

Wm. Jason E. Washo , a CPA with EdwardJones Investments in Scottsdale , makes it a point to have fun at whatever endeavor he undertakes.

In addition to his work life, Washo is a volunteer for JumpStart Coalition, an organization devoted to the education of teachers and children in grades K-12 on the topics of financial responsibility. He is also an active member of the Scottsdale Chamber of Commerce. And for fun, exercise and excitement, he is an avid hiker, mountain biker and loves off-road driving required to get to remote places.

Washo grew up in
Prescott and has always enjoyed the outdoors. “I've always made it a point to go outdoors and appreciate the beautiful scenery our state has to offer. My advice to everyone is: If you don't do things outdoors, GET OUT! If people moved to Arizona because of its beauty, and are not experiencing it first hand, they are truly missing out on something wonderful.”

Washo also believes his volunteer work qualifies him as an “Exciting CPA.”

“Helping people understand at an early age that they can have a life of financial freedom is empowering,” says Washo. “Giving a young person the tools and understanding of these basic principles can truly change our standard of living and our country.” Washo became involved with the JumpStart Coalition after reading an article in the Journal of Accountancy. “They were looking for help from CPAs to help with their efforts, and I joined up. I found that I really enjoyed helping people, I guess I am a closet social worker.”

Washo is active in the Scottsdale Chamber of Commerce. He joined the Chamber to network with other professionals. “I get to show everyone that CPAs are fun!”
