Connie Brezik, CPA, has been awarded the 2004 Distinguished Service Award from the PFP Division of the AICPA. 

 

Keats, Connelly & Associates, a Phoenix-based financial planning firm, was named one of three finalists in the Central/Northern Arizona Better Business Bureau Ethics Award for companies with 11 to 50 employees.

 

ASCPA members Cheryl Folkerth, CPA, and Roman Kepczyk, CPA, were both interviewed in the April 18issue of Accounting Today in the article, “Disaster Recovery is a Numbers Game and CPAs May be the Best Ones to Play It.”

Henry & Horne, PLCannounced the formation of a new Henry & Horne Professorship in Accountancy for ArizonaStateUniversity’s W.P.CareySchool of Business.  Nationally known tax scholar Sanjay Gupta is its first recipient. “As passionate supporters of excellence in education, we are thrilled to have the Henry & Horne Professorship awarded to someone with the credentials and personal dedication of Dr. Gupta,” said Mark Eberle, CPA, managing director of Henry & Horne. “Private sector support is an essential ingredient in maintaining a nationally competitive accounting program, and Henry & Horne’s support clearly evidences its recognition of the value to the community of a quality program,” said Jim Boatsman, director of the School of Accountancy.

 

Henry & Horne, PLC has hired Christine Harms as a staff accountant in the firm’s not-for-profit niche.

 

Downtown Urban Community Kids (DUCK) has elected Colette Kamps, CPA, to their board. Kamps is an Audit Manager in the Scottsdale office of Henry & Horne.
