Ensemble Real Estate Services, LLC, has appointed Sandra Brashear-Paquin, CPA, as senior vice president and controller for the company. Sandy Abalos, CPA, managing partner of Abalos & Associates, P.C., has been recognized by Women Impacting Public Policy for her demonstrated leadership on a national and state level, speaking on issues that have an impact on the small business community. Abalos currently serves on the executive board and board of directors for the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) and heads the organization’s Public Policy Committee. Anita Baker, CPA, and chair of the AICPA’s Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center Executive Committee, provided an update to the AICPA’s board of directors at its July meeting. The following three individuals have joined the firm: Lori Brady, Erin Fox, CPA and Matthew Lausten. Joel F. Birenbaum, P.C. announced that Mitchell B. Speen, CPA has become a shareholder of the firm and the new firm name is Birenbaum & Speen, P.C. The Renaissance Companies named Randall Rafidi, CPA, as vice president and chief financial officer. PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) staff recently hosted a mini Olympics event at the Harry & Sandy Rosenzweig Branch of the Boys and Girls Club of Metropolitan Phoenix. Close to 50 volunteers from PWC helped organize and run the first PWC mini Olympics. More than 100 club members were able to participate in the activities.
