Scholarships
The Arizona CPA Foundation for Education and Innovation in coordination with the Arizona Society of CPAs supports programs and initiatives in education and practice which enhance excellence and innovation in the profession of accountancy.
The Foundation offers a variety of scholarships to assist future CPAs in reaching their educational goals. The Foundation awards more than $70,000 in scholarships each year, thanks to the generous donations made by ASCPA members.
University Senior & Master’s Program Scholarships - Three $3,000 scholarships are awarded to each of the four public universities (Arizona State University Main, Arizona State University West Campus, University of Arizona and Northern Arizona University) based on the following criteria:
- Accounting majors who will begin their senior year or master’s program and have a 3.5 minimum GPA
- Legal U.S. resident
- Each candidate completes a detailed scholarship application form
- The students nominated are asked to prepare a statement of career goals and a formal resume

University Junior Standing Scholarships - Three $1,500 scholarships are offered to each of the four public universities (Arizona State University Main, Arizona State University West Campus, University of Arizona and Northern Arizona University) based on the following criteria:
- Accounting majors with a GPA of 3.5 or higher
- Legal U.S. resident
- At a minimum, completion of the first introductory accounting course and current enrollment in the second introductory accounting course
- Each candidate completes a detailed scholarship application form
- The students nominated are asked to prepare a statement of career goals and a formal resume

Sam Gallant Memorial Scholarship – This $1,000 scholarship is offered to an African American accounting student at Arizona State University Main Campus based on the following criteria:
- Accounting major
- Legal U.S. resident
- Each candidate completes a detailed scholarship application form
- The students nominated are asked to prepare a statement of career goals and a formal resume

Future CPA Scholarships –Two, $1,500 scholarships are awarded to accounting students at community colleges or private universities. Students at ASU (all campuses), NAU and U of A are not eligible for these scholarships. We have specific scholarships for these schools listed above. Scholarship requirements:

Designate your major in accounting

Legal U.S. and Arizona resident

Full-time student (12 or more credits per semester or 24 credits per year)

Earned at least 12 college or university credits at time of application

Completed at least one accounting course at a college or university

GPA of 3.0 or better
-
Attend a university or community college located in Arizona
Applications will be available on this page in January of 2009. The deadline to apply is in April and will be posted along with the application.
High School Scholarships - The Foundation offers 12, $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors that will be enrolling in an Arizona university or community college as a full-time student in the fall semester majoring in accounting. The recipients will be selected based on their academic achievement, community involvement, and leadership potential.
Application – Must be received by January 30, 2009
