The Beat Goes On for CPA Drummer

For more than 41 years, William S. Jaffa, CPA, has played the drums – a past time that led to an affiliation with his current group, CJA, and more importantly, to the love of his life, wife Joanne.

Jaffa met his wife in 2004 at his Rotary Club. He joined her band, they became quite close and eventually married.

“Playing the drums in a group with Joanne, and playing to music that she composes and produces in our music studio, and that I have an opportunity to shape, is a dream come true,” says Jaffa. “Joanne’s music is awesome. What more could a drummer ask for than to play in a music group with my spouse, my angel, the woman I adore and think the world of.”

“All of the music that the group produces has a positive message,” says Jaffa. “The music is uplifting.”

The classical crossover group consists of Jaffa on drums, Joanne Jaffa (vocals and keyboard), and her three daughters, Christine (violin), Leiticia (vocals and violin) and Krystle (vocals and cello). CJA’s musical style is a blend of European pop, Celtic folk songs, traditional Irish fiddling with spiritual and poetic influences.

CJA was nominated for “Best Female Band” at the Arizona Infusion Music Awards in 2001 and was named “Best Pop Band in Arizona” as part of the Dream-to-Reality Artists Awards program in 2002.

The group’s latest song, “They’re Heroes,” is a tribute to U.S. soldiers and was critiqued and endorsed by Senator Jon Kyl. Jaffa and his band can be heard on the group’s Web site -  cjaonline.com.
