Description

The Arizona Humane Society has been improving animal welfare in Maricopa County for over 60 years. Come learn from AHS’s team about the latest and greatest transformations, the operational challenges they face and the bright future they envision for animal welfare. AHS CFO and fellow CPA, Matthew Johnson, will share his experience on transitioning from working at a for-profit to a non-profit. He will touch on several topics, including: strategic planning, equity vs. net assets, responsibility to investors vs. donors, capital campaigns and the form 990. This event will include lunch, a tour of the South Mountain facility and an optional opportunity to help some of the most vulnerable animals at the shelter by making blankets for the kitten nursery.
