Alan Gold, CPA is a partner with MGKS. He has been providing
customized employee benefit administration and consulting services
for more than 30 years. Gold is a member of the American Institute of
CPAs and the Arizona Society of CPAs. He is a past president of the
Arizona chapter of the National Institute of Pension Administrators
(NIPA). Gold current serves as an advisory board member to the
Phoenix Tax Workshop, as well as a board member of the Arizona
Society of CPAs, and the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater
Phoenix. Prior to establishing a specialized employee benefits practice,

Stephen A. Good, is a business, tax and estate planning lawyer. He helps clients structure their businesses and negotiate commercial transactions, with an emphasis on advising clients regarding the associated income, estate and gift tax implications. He is particularly skilled at drafting partnership agreements and LLC operating agreements. Steve also helps families and individuals accomplish their estate planning, succession and wealth preservation objectives in a tax-efficient manner.
When he’s not at work, Steve enjoys time with his wife and three children, and he is an avid college sports fan, particularly football and basketball. From time to time, Steve also plays the trombone in a local R&B band.
Rodis, Stephen J.
Stephen J. Rodis, CPA, is a partner with Wallace, Plese + Dreher, LLP in Chandler and Scottsdale. He is the Director of Tax Services for the Firm. Steve has over 30 years of experience in local and national public accounting firms in the Phoenix metro area. Rodis’ professional services include tax and consulting to privately held companies and their owners, ownership structure and entity selection, mergers and acquisitions, and sales and use tax. Recognizing increasing revenues and managing cash flow are top priorities, he incorporates industry knowledge and benchmarking in tax planning strategies. His experience includes working with entrepreneurial companies in a variety of stages, from start-up to exit planning. As WP+D’s international team leader, he helps companies evaluate global expansion. Rodis was previously a managing tax partner in local and national CPA firms. He is a member of the AICPA Tax Section, Arizona Society of CPAs, Board Member of the Phoenix Committee on Foreign Relations, and co-chair of the Phoenix Tax Workshop. Rodis received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Arizona State University.
Valentine, Paul J.
Paul J. Valentine focuses his practice in the field of Taxation at Arboleda Brechner, attorneys. His practice emphasizes structuring corporate, partnership and real estate transactions, counseling medium and small businesses and exempt organizations in tax matters, litigating tax cases in federal courts, and handling administrative controversies before the IRS. Valentine's experience with Arizona state and city tax controversy includes income tax, sales tax, and commercial rent tax.
He received a B.A. with honors from the University of Leeds, his J.D. from American University, Washington College of Law, and an LL.M. (Taxation) from New York University School of Law. He externed for Judge Blackburn-Rigsby, DC Court of Appeals.
Valentine is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and Arizona.
Efird, Samuel S.
Samuel S. Efird, is a member of the firm’s business and finance practice group, and focuses on general corporate law, entity formation and governance, mergers and acquisitions, and venture capital transactions. He also helps clients navigate the tax implications of their business activities, particularly as it related to forming and operating partnerships and limited liability companies.
Prior to joining Fennmore Craig, Sam worked for the United States Senate and Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He also externed with the Sate of Arizona Governor’s Office of General Counsel and the Maricopa Country Attorney’s Office.
Outside of work, Sam enjoys spending time with his wife and their two dogs, watching college sports, reading and exploring the outdoors. Sam also serves on the board of a local charter school and its management company.
