Stephen Hart is a Certified Public Account with 29 years’ experience focusing on small/medium sized businesses and individuals. He is returning to Phoenix after four years with a leading DC local firm Russell, Evans and Thompson, where he was responsible for the firm’s tax research and communications with the Internal Revenue Service National Office. Previously Stephen was associated with the leading local firm in Vancouver, Washington - Frumenti, Lander, and Wallace where he was responsible for tax services to small and medium sized businesses, high net worth individuals, and the firm’s tax research.
Stephen is considered a national expert on tax deprecation and has consulted with Fortune 500 companies on depreciation and state tax issues. He has focused on partnership, limited liability companies, and Sub Chapter S corporations for most of his career with the goals of minimizing taxes and maximizing value to the owners.
Stephen has two children, Ken who owns a large Insurance Agency in Portland Oregon and Menolly who is a Healthcare Analyst at Care Oregon in Portland Oregon. Stephen is an Oregon State University graduate who stays active in the community with volunteering on various community foundations, and business associations. He is an avid golfer and runner who competes in half marathons.

Ira S. Feldman, CPA, CVA, AEP, is president of FELCO Business Services, Inc. He was a founding partner in Toback CPAs PC, one of Arizona's largest local CPA firms (sold in 2000 to a national CPA firm), where he provided business and tax counseling for more than 35 years. Feldman has a long history as an advocate for small business. He has been a delegate to the White House Conference on Small Business twice, founded the Arizona Small Business United and served as Director and President of the Arizona Small Business Association. As a Certified Valuation Analyst, a Certified Estate Planner and a CPA, Feldman continues to provide services for clients in Arizona. He serves as Chairman of the Phoenix Tax Workshop and is editor of the Arizona Tax Guides.

Polese, James F.

James Polese was the founding member of Polese Hiner & Nolan PA and Polese Pietzsch Williams & Nolan PA. Polese joined Gammage & Burnham in February 2008. Since his admission to the Arizona Bar, Polese has had extensive experience in both an office practice involving tax and business planning for small and medium size businesses as well as a commercial litigation. Polese’s history of representing IMPRA, Inc., a medical products company now acquired by C.R. Bard and renamed as Bard Peripheral Vascular, has resulted in his involvement in two very significant patent infringement cases against W.L. Gore & Associates over Teflon® technology. The first was in the 1980s where he spearheaded the defense of a patent infringement case brought by Gore, in which one of Gore’s seminal patents was declared invalid. In 2008, he was involved in the $185 million patent infringement jury award entered against Gore on a patent owned by Bard PV. Polese has been involved in a number of published appellate decisions from the Federal Circuit, Ninth Circuit and the Arizona Court of Appeals. Polese has also been a writer and speaker on business, tax and estate planning matters, He continues to serve on the Advisory Board of the Phoenix Tax Workshop.
