Sr Financial Analyst- Capital & Lease Accounting
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Provides a high level of financial and technical expertise in an advisory capacity to all levels of management by effectively communicating financial information, presenting conclusions and recommendations in oral and written form to our customers, and identifying and responding to customers’ capital asset and lease reporting and education needs. This includes but is not limited to supporting the development of Return-on-Investment Analysis (ROI) of Capital Asset Decisions and Lease vs Buy analysis on asset acquisitions.
2. Leads key financial analysis and reporting processes within Laboratory Sciences of Arizona and Sonora Quest Laboratories by coordinating resources and communication and leading process teams.
3. Prepares proactive financial analysis by identifying appropriate sources of data and meaningful financial indicators and develops comprehensive spreadsheet models using standard spreadsheet and other financial software programs.
4. Initiates and assist in the identification and implementation of operating improvements and efficiencies by identifying important trends and variances through the review of management reports and financial analysis. Establishes a robust ROI lookback process to evaluate financial return on investments.
5. Collaborates with operations management to evaluate financial viability of capital acquisition and on-going reporting. Assign responsibilities as necessary to support audit, tax, Board reporting and other projects as assigned.
6. Implements processes to monitor compliance with LSA and SQL financial policies and procedures. Communicates variances to the appropriate department manager or Assistant Controller or Controller.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Advanced computer skills and advanced Microsoft Excel functionality.
- Excellent organization and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to communicate complex issues clearly and concisely.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields and five (5) years’ experience in an analytical financial/accounting environment, including demonstrated abilities in cost accounting.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- One year supervisory/leadership experience.
