Day-to-day expectations:

  • Flex full time, 35-40 hours per week
  • Manage assurance services
    • Manage multiple engagements through various phases concurrently
    • Proactively connect with clients to set expectations before and throughout the engagement through completion
    • Perform planning and risk assessment and determine engagement team assignments
    • Actively participate in fieldwork to ensure quality service and timely delivery of results
    • Play an active role in providing valuable financial statement guidance and business recommendations based on testing performed and information gathered
    • Deliver insight through thoughtful review, analysis, and discussion

o   Manage staff and engagement timeline to ensure profitability and time targets are met, including monitoring client audit readiness or additional time needed related to client inadequacies o   Research accounting & auditing matters, discuss, document and communicate conclusions. ·       Assist with seasonal engagement schedule from both a client and staff perspective ·       Support the growth and development of team members ·       Provide on the job coaching, training & mentoring to less experienced colleagues as needed ·       Onboard and train new staff ·       Actively participate in decisions about the assurance department of the firm ·       Identify, champion and implement, templates, new techniques, knowledge and software ·       Foster the work-life balance, positive, open-minded, solution-based culture our firm embodies

Qualifications:

·       Master’s degree in accounting required ·       CPA license required ·       Five 5 + years of audit experience ·       Two 2+ years of supervisory experience

  • Demonstrated management, analytical, organization, interpersonal, project management, communication skills

·       Ability to lead, supervise, teach/train others ·       Demonstrate commitment to continuous learning ·       Advanced software and Microsoft Suite skills ·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Compensation & Benefits ·       $75,000 Salary ·       $200 per month tech/home office stipend ·       2 weeks vacation + firm closure the week between Christmas and New Year’s Eve ·       Sick Time ·       Health Insurance (80% Employer paid) ·       Health Savings Account ($600 Employer annual contribution) ·       401K with Employer match up to 4% of salary

Stevenson CPA, LLC is a for profit accounting firm that works exclusively with nonprofit organizations. The firm is led by Lisa Stevenson, MBA, CPA and Kristyn Kozar, MAcc, CPA. Lisa has more than 20 years nonprofit experience and more than 18 years accounting experience. Kristyn has more than 10 years nonprofit experience and more than 8 years accounting experience.  The firm performs audits, reviews and compilations as well as providing general bookkeeping and accounting (for non-attest clients), prepares 990s and offers a variety of other consulting: training, writing or updating policies and procedure, Quickbooks online set up.

All staff operate remotely, but collaboratively. Staff members do need their own reliable computer, internet, Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat software, for which the firm does provide a monthly stipend. Expert proficiency in both Excel and Word are required.

Travel is limited, but may need to visit clients as needed, as well as our firm members depending on certain limited circumstance. The firm partners and staff attend conferences throughout the year and holds a strategic planning session annually.

Our firm uses various software including, but not limited to Asana for project management, Auditfile for assurance engagements, mytaxprepoffice for 990 services, Quickbooks Online for accounting clients, and when given access by attest clients to pull reports.

We are looking for someone to join our team on a permanent full-time basis 35-40 hours per week. Starting pay is $75,000 for full-time, with a $200 per month for technology reimbursement. Other benefits include sick time, PTO/vacation time, holidays and our firm is closed between Christmas and New Years.
