Corporate Controller
- Serve as a strategic financial business partner to the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and other key executives to help make sound business decisions
- Oversee the accounting and internal controls of the organization, including operational improvements, billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, revenue recognition, audit, tax and cash management
- Build and lead a high-performance accounting team, serving as a strong positive leader, mentor and advisor who is willing to roll up their sleeves working alongside the team
- Serve as primary contact with external auditors to ensure effective execution of audit, internal controls, and financial reporting activities relative to our value based care centric business model
- Responsible for detailed financial reporting and analysis
- Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported and is in accordance with accounting records
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial activities
- Ensure compliance with all GAAP and other applicable laws, rules, and financial regulations for financial, partnership and tax reporting
- Drive meaningful accounting process transformation and automation to increase efficiency, timeliness, and accuracy
- Present to the leadership team and EQH’s investors
- Preparation of regular and ad-hoc special requests for leadership and the firm’s investors
- Regularly looking to make improvements and continually level up the accounting function via people, process, and technology
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced dynamic environment
- Believe in and be a champion for the firm’s mission to provide value based care for a diverse and underserved population
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 7-10 years of experience leading the corporate accounting or financial controller’s function at a healthcare organization
- Significant experience in value-based care is required
- Bachelor’s degree and CPA license required
- Thorough knowledge of accrual accounting, accounting principles and procedures
- Understanding of how to accrue and invoice revenue in value-based care
- Strong attention to detail, work ethic and professionalism
- Strategically minded accounting leader
- Technologically and data savvy
- Private Equity or VBC experience is preferred
- Strong knowledge of Medicaid is preferred
- Preference for candidates who began their career at a top accounting firm
- If based outside of Phoenix, travel will be every 2-3 weeks
