Tax Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY

Prepare and assist with Corporate business taxes (Sales & Use, Property Tax, Income Tax, Annual Reports, etc). Support tax  department with tax compliance and research, as well as any administrative needs.

  ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Gather tax information (i.e. Sales & Use, Business Licenses, Annual Reports, and Gross Receipts Returns), prepare monthly indirect tax for each location, complete tax forms, ensure compliance of tax forms for submission, file tax information; track payments; ensure timely payments from stakeholders; communicate and follow up with stakeholders on payments
  • Calculate tax depreciation and forecasts; maintain tax fixed asset ledgers for Federal & State income and property tax, reconcile tax and fixed assets to financial reporting fix assets; maintain roll-forwards for fixed assets
  • Assist in preparation of federal, state income tax return work-papers
  • Prepare 1099s and 1042s; update and maintain tax master data assets in SAP; work with 3rd party consultants in the preparation of information returns and any related notices
  • Work with 3rd party tax consultants regarding Property Taxes & Annual Reports
  • Estimate and forecast monthly tax accruals; provide tax entries for finance department; reconcile tax accounts
  • Research tax rates, new tax laws and concepts to ensure state and federal compliancy; communicate research to tax department; maintain tax calendar
  • Assist with journal entries, reconciliation
  • Other duties as assigned

  MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business with an emphasis in Accounting, Finance or Taxation
  • One (1) year tax experience

  License/Certifications

  • N/A

  Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAGE, SAP, and OneSource
  • CPA or Enrolled Agent candidate

  KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES (KSA’s)

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to communicate and work closely with other departments outside of Tax Department and third parties
  • Must demonstrate strong attention to detail
  • Must possess organization skills, including the ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects to meet
  • various deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
