Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven professional to fill a hybrid role combining responsibilities of a Senior Accountant and Credit Manager within our dynamic manufacturing organization. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing core accounting functions while managing the credit and collections policies to support healthy cash flow and risk management. This dual-role position requires strong financial acumen, attention to detail, and strategic thinking to contribute to both operational and financial success.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting Responsibilities (Senior Accountant):

  • Manage general ledger accounting and ensure timely month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Perform and review cost accounting functions, including standard cost updates, variance analysis, and inventory valuation
  • Reconcile and analyze inventory, WIP, and COGS accounts
  • Collaborate with production and supply chain teams to understand operational drivers of financial results
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and manufacturing performance reports
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, particularly for manufacturing and operational expenses
  • Support internal and external audits, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with internal controls
  • Recommend and implement improvements to accounting processes and controls
  • Manage and maintain the fixed asset register, including capitalization, disposals, and depreciation schedules

Credit Management Responsibilities (Credit Manager):

  • Oversee the credit approval process for new and existing customers.
  • Set and adjust credit limits based on credit analysis and company policy.
  • Monitor aging reports and follow up on overdue accounts.
  • Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to resolve disputes and improve cash collections.
  • Evaluate creditworthiness through financial statement analysis, credit reports, and industry research.
  • Develop and enforce credit policies and procedures to mitigate risk and ensure timely payments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 4–7 years of progressive experience in accounting and credit management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (NetSuite preferred)
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data modeling)
  • Experience with credit analysis, collections, and customer risk assessment.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Leadership qualities and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Preferred Attributes:

  • CPA, CMA, or progress toward certification
  • Experience with inventory management and production cost tracking
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing or process improvement methodologies
  • Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements and automation initiatives.
