We are looking or a skilled Controller to oversee accounting, financial reporting, and cash flow management across our companies.
Position Summary
The Controller will be responsible for managing all financial activities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, and supporting leadership with data driven insight. This individual will oversee accounting functions for multiple small businesses under common ownership and play a hands-on roll in day-to-day financial operations.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including accounts payable, bookkeeping, payroll, and financial reporting for multiple business entities.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable tax/regulatory requirements.
- Manage cash flow, budgets, and forecasting.
- Develop and maintain internal controls and accounting policies.
- Experienced in implementing and maintaining QuickBooks software for efficient financial management.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to ownership/management.
- Lead, mentor, and provide training and support to accounting staff on best practices in financial management and reporting.
Experience/Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Controller or in a similar role within public accounting or corporate accounting environments.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
- 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, preferably with exposure to multiple entities or small businesses.
- Proficiency in using financial software tools for reporting and analysis; experience with QuickBooks.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail; ability to interpret complex financial data effectively, structure and organize.
